Beowulf Mastiffs are simply the the best!

Well, what can I say.  Beowulf Mastiffs are simply the the best!  Many many years ago, I was looking for a brindle mastiff puppy. What I got was my soul dog!  Denali was my best friend. We did everything together. He was a superstar at the kids soccer and football games, he loved hiking, camping, playing in the river but he also liked to lay on the couch. He never met a creature he didn’t like and the feeling was mutual from all creatures he came into contact with. At 255lbs, he was the true definition of a gentle giant.  

He was so gentle, one summer, a rabbit made her little nest under Denalis favorite tree.  This giant dog laid under that tree every afternoon for years, and this rabbit deemed it a safe place for her babies. He watched over them as if he knew he was suppose to protect them.  I could go on and on about him forever, but what I want to share most is the impact Susann has had on my life.

When I lost my beloved Denali, I couldn’t get out of bed for 2 weeks. I continued to cry every single day, multiple times a day over him. After about 6 months of this, I contacted Susann for advice. She told me that with great love comes great loss, and that’s why it hurt so much. After crying on the phone with her, late at night for over an hour, I realized that Denali and I loved each other so much, it was a bond not everyone gets to experience and for that, I am forever grateful.

It took many years before I could welcome another mastiff into my life, but when I was ready, so was Susann and Beowulf mastiffs.  They have always done right by me and I cannot imagine any other breeder going to the lengths Susann does to support her mastiff family.  We currently have 9 month old Piper and she is just phenomenal. Gentle, kind, loving and fun!!  From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
